Search Pierce County Inmate Records

Pierce County inmate records are split across several custody systems, so a useful Pierce County jail roster search starts with the adult county jail and then checks city, state, federal, or immigration custody when needed. Current adult bookings are tied to the county roster, while Puyallup has its own booking search and sentenced state prisoners move to the Washington corrections locator. To look up Pierce County inmates online, search the official roster first, then use the jail phone line, records request route, VINE, or the proper outside locator when the roster does not show the person.

Pierce County Jail Roster Records

The main adult custody route is the Pierce County Sheriff's Office Corrections Bureau page, which links the LINX jail roster, VINE, jail visitation, mail, phones, commissary, medical care, and mental-health services. The official roster entry point is the LINX jail roster. During research, the public roster page reached a recaptcha and loading screen before live roster fields appeared, so the safe description is that LINX is the county's roster entry point, not a verified list of every field on an open inmate profile.

The Pierce County jail roster covers people in adult county custody at the Pierce County Jail. It should not be used for every person arrested in the county. Someone booked on a Puyallup municipal case may appear in the Puyallup City Jail search. A sentenced woman at Washington Corrections Center for Women is in WADOC custody. A person in the Northwest ICE Processing Center is in civil immigration detention. Those distinctions matter because the wrong search tool can make a person look missing when they are simply in a different custody system.

The official LINX roster was captured through a normal public URL, but the live form did not expose current profile details in the research pass. Use a standard browser session first. If the page does not load, call Pierce County Jail custody at (253) 798-4590 or jail administration at (253) 798-4668. For old booking records, incident reports, photographs where releasable, or 911 audio, Pierce County routes records through its public-records process and South Sound 911.

Use Pierce County Inmate Search

A Pierce County inmate search works best as a short chain, not a single click. Start with the official county source, then widen the search only when the facts point away from adult county jail custody. Booking charges, court charges, holds, release reasons, and bail can change after first appearance, so the jail roster should be read with the court case record rather than treated as the final charge list.

  1. Open the Corrections Bureau page or go straight to the official LINX jail roster URL in a normal browser session.
  2. Let the verification page finish before assuming the roster is unavailable.
  3. If LINX does not load, call custody at (253) 798-4590 and ask about current adult jail custody.
  4. Check Puyallup BookingFind if the arrest was municipal, misdemeanor, or tied to a Puyallup-area agency.
  5. Search WADOC Incarcerated Search for sentenced state-prison custody.
  6. Use BOP Inmate Locator or the ICE Online Detainee Locator for federal or immigration custody.
  7. Register through Washington VINE or VINELink when custody-change notice is needed.

The Pierce County Sheriff WA app is useful for crime tips, police report requests, and push notifications, according to the sheriff's blotter post. Research did not verify a jail roster, mugshot gallery, or warrant search inside that app. Treat the app as a reporting and notification tool unless the sheriff later adds a custody feature.

Pierce County Roster Fields

The public Pierce LINX roster did not expose searchable fields before the recaptcha gate during research. That means the page should not claim that last name, booking number, housing unit, mugshot, or bond fields are visible in the current Pierce roster unless a live record is later verified. The visible LINX inventory did show the broader LINX navigation and a public roster URL linked by the county without saying an account is required.

For comparison, Puyallup's official booking search exposes a more conventional public form. Its search-result text says users may enter criteria in any combination or search with no criteria to select all current inmates.

Pierce County Booking Record Data

The live Pierce roster profile could not be inspected, but the county's official jail booking dataset gives a strong inventory of the booking data Pierce County Corrections tracks from LINX. Dataset records begin with bookings admitted into Pierce County Corrections and include booking dates, release dates, booking IDs, custody status, charge levels, bail fields, length of stay, warrant flags, demographics, and arresting agency. Use those dataset fields as evidence of county booking data, not as a promise that every field appears on the public roster screen.

FieldWhat It Shows
booking_dt / release_dtAdmission and release dates when a release date exists.
booking_idLocal booking identifier for the jail booking event.
custody_statusWhether the person is in custody in the dataset value shown.
release_reasonExamples include not released, bail bond/cash, and PR/SIP categories.
warrant_categoryWhether the booking is grouped with or without a warrant category.
charge_level_descFelony, misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, infraction, or related level.
bail_amt / amended_bail_amtBail amount fields when populated in county booking data.
arresting_agencyThe arresting agency named in the booking dataset.
losLength of stay in days for the booking record.

The Pierce County jail booking data metadata identifies LINX as the source. That makes it useful for understanding what Pierce tracks, but current custody should still be verified through the active roster or custody line.

Pierce County Booking Process

Adult booking begins after arrest, warrant commitment, surrender, or transport by an arresting agency. A person may go to Pierce County Jail, Puyallup City Jail, or another contract jail depending on offense level, arresting agency, warrant, housing, and court needs. Milton's official arrestee page shows that misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor arrestees may be booked at Puyallup, Enumclaw, SCORE, or other jails, while felony subjects may be booked into Pierce County or King County jail.

The local booking process creates an identity record, booking ID, security screening, property intake, and a medical screen. Pierce County's health page says all inmates are screened on arrival to decide whether they are medically appropriate for housing, and medical staff are on site all day, every day. Mental-health review may follow when needed. After classification, a person may be assigned to housing based on security, medical, mental-health, gender, court, and hold factors.

Pierce County Jail Visits

The Pierce County Jail visitation page stated at capture that in-person public visitation was unavailable and the public reception desk remained closed. It directed family and friends to video visitation. The page also keeps general rules for ID, visitor names and dates of birth, inmate scheduling, one-hour sessions, sign-up timing, limits on adults and children, and warrant or no-contact checks.

Pierce County Inmate Contact

Pierce County jail mail must include a sender return address and should include the inmate booking number. The mail page gives the format as the inmate's full name and booking ID, followed by 910 Tacoma Ave. S., Tacoma, WA 98402. Since April 15, 2020, original incoming mail has been scanned, copies forwarded to inmates, and originals shredded. Legal mail is treated separately when clearly identified as attorney or court correspondence.

Inmates cannot receive phone calls. The Pierce County phone page names Securus as the phone vendor, states calls can be up to 20 minutes, and says calls are recorded and monitored except attorney calls. Puyallup gives newly booked inmates three free calls after booking, uses inmatesales.com/CTEL for calls and texting, and starts texting access after arraignment.

Pierce County Commissary Funds

The Pierce County commissary page says commissary can include snacks, cosmetics, beverages, writing materials, miscellaneous items, and clothing if funds and classification allow. Money must be received by Sunday at 9 p.m. for that week's commissary. The inmate money page points to TouchPay internet deposits or toll-free deposits at 1-866-232-1899, and the facility locator number is 298402.
